Non-profit Hoping to Capitalize on Success of Antiquing TV Shows

Have you ever been curious about the value of your antiques? Do you enjoy watching the increasing number of television programs where they assess the value of collectibles? Well now you can discover the value of your heirlooms while helping a local non-profit at the same time. This Saturday February 12, 2011 Interfaith Social Services is holding an Antique Appraisal Show at Kelley Auctions in Holbrook from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. Professional appraisers will be available to determine the value of coins, stamps, dolls, collectibles, art, lamps, attic treasures, and much more.

Local non-profits struggle to provide Christmas gifts for families in need

Each December Interfaith Social Services distributes a lot more than food to their food pantry clients. For almost two decades Interfaith’s “adopt a family for the holidays” program has connected charitable citizens with local families in need. This year the organization is struggling to provide Christmas gifts for hundreds of local children.

Interfaith Social Services’ Feed the Hungry Gala Raises over $65,000

Interfaith Social Services hosted its Thirteenth Annual Feed the Hungry Gala on Tuesday, November 30, 2010 at Lombardo’s Function Facility in Randolph, MA. Hundreds of local residents gathered for this festive event with entertainment by Syd Slacks and His Elastic Waist Band.

Quincy Oktoberfest to Help Feed Hungry Families

Quincy, MA – October 25, 2010 – Quincy’s Tirrell room will be transformed into a little piece of Germany on Friday November 5th. The Masons of the 8th Masonic District and the Quincy Elks are sponsoring the Quincy Oktoberfest to benefit Interfaith Social Services’ food pantry. Participants will enjoy traditional German food, six types of specialty Oktoberfest beer, a selection of wine and liquor, two DJs on two separate floors, Raffles: including two large screen LCD TVs, and many more exciting items.
