Interfaith Social Services is pleased to announce that it has received $50,000 from the Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office to help foreclosed upon individuals and families finance new housing. Eligible applicants receive a onetime award to help with security deposits, as well as first and last month’s rent. Other moving related expenses may also be covered. Awards are subject to the approval of the Attorney General’s office.

Family fun, exercise and an opportunity to help impoverished local families is on tap for this Saturday at Interfaith Social Services’ 37th Annual South Shore Walk at Quincy’s Pageant Field. Walkers will take to the sidewalks in a route that wraps around some of Quincy’s neighborhoods and along Wollaston beach.

Family fun, exercise and an opportunity to help impoverished local families is on tap for Interfaith Social Services’ 37th Annual South Shore Walk. Hundreds of people are expected to assemble at Quincy’s Pageant Field on Saturday April 16th. The Walk begins and ends at the field off of Merrymount Parkway. “The Walk is much than an important fundraiser for local families in need” said Interfaith’s Executive Director Rick Doane. “This is a community event which raises awareness about poverty here on the South Shore and brings families together.”
