Websites-redesign, renew

Home» web development » Websites-redesign, renew

I”ve been doing quite a few websites for organizations lately, and sometimes it is an easy process, but mostly it is an educational process.

I just read a blog post from Find and Convert 3 Lenses Needed for SEO Website Design. They talk about needing to look at a site through Design, Development and Content Lens, and SEO plays into each. Balancing them is quite a feat, especially when you are governed by a committee (as what happens with many NPOs).

Everyone seems to get wrapped up in the design, after all, that”s what people see. A well designed website provides strong branding and delivers a good user experience. “Design elements include layout, colors and menu navigation.”

But equally important if you want to be found on the world wide web is the Development and the Content, and the organization”s plans to move forward and grow.  A well developed website

uses an efficient code structure that permits flexible changes (That”s why we use WordPress). And lastly, the content, which is the reason people visit your website. “Content ultimately makes or breaks the user experience. The most common reason for a website not launching on time is the content isn’t ready by the planned launch date.” Content that can be used in various Social Media venues, and brings people to your website. Having a web developer that understands how the different mediums work together is essential for a great website.

All of  is so true.  I spend much of my time educating my organizations on the different parts of the web development. It”s not about who can do a website for the least amount of money, it”s about working with someone who can build you your “field of dreams” with a solid design, great foundation and filling your site with strong content…then “they will come.”
