Small nonprofits, especially those whose annual incomes are less than $25,000, face many challenges, not the least of which is figuring out what forms to file with the IRS. It used to be that nonprofits whose income was less than $25,000 were exempt from filing. Then the IRS required all nonprofits to file, allowing those whose incomes were less than $25,000 to file Form 990-N (which can be done by e-Postcard).
