If you are a non-profit and want to know what is going on in social media, you should be following

Beth Kanter: Writer, Blogger: Beth’s Blog: How Nonprofits Organizations Can Use Social Media to Power Social Networks for Change, one of the longest running and most popular blogs for nonprofits. She is a frequent contributor to many nonprofit technology web sites and magazines, and has authored chapters in several books, more here about Beth.

She was actually one of the first group of people that made me realize what an impact social media was going to have.  I saw her speak at a Camera Company expo a few years ago.  Over the years she has explored many aspects of using social media, and the comments on her blog come from many people prominent in the field, so check out her blog.

Just before the holidays she posted on the slideshare blog (I wanted to wait until after the holidays to share):

  • 7 Amazing Nonprofit Social Media Decks on SlideShare (slideshare.net)

There are some amazing presentations, worth spending some time looking at her picks for/from non-profits.

Slide Share is an amazing site where people can post their presentations, create presentations/portfolios/write stories and then share the content/information. Just go there and browse some categories or search some key words…

Can you think of ways that your organization can utilize slideshare to share your message?

Then post the slides on Linkedin, Facebook and your blog, hows that for link building and content sharing!

Completely agree – Beth can see far ahead in terms of how social media can be used. Which is why I am so excited to have her write on the SlideShare blog!

We have been pleasantly surprised with the visibility we have received when we have put slides up on slideshare. Thank you for the great service!
